About
Meet Dr. Ocampo
Hola and hello! I'm Dr. Paloma Ocampo, a bilingual (Spanish-English) Licensed Psychologist in Frisco, TX. Born in Mexico City and raised in Texas in a Spanish-speaking home, I consider myself bicultural and understand the importance of providing culturally sensitive psychological services. I completed my doctoral training in Springfield, Missouri, where I worked with a predominately rural population navigating challenges such as trauma, substance use, chronic illness, depression, and anxiety. It was there that I developed a strong foundation in psychological assessment, which has become one of my areas of expertise. There’s something incredibly rewarding about connecting the dots and helping adults and families find the answers they were looking for.
My resume includes work in university counseling centers, schools, hospitals, detention centers, community mental health facilities, and crisis services. Working with people of different ages and backgrounds has shaped the way I approach therapy and assessment, with curiosity, empathy, and respect. I stay current with the field of psychology through continuing education, workshops, attending regional and national psychology conferences, and consulting with colleagues. In my downtime, I enjoy trying new coffee shops, junk journaling, reading, and spending time in nature.
