Payment Methods

My accepted payment methods include:

  • Debit card
  • All major credit cards
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

* Payment is due at the beginning of each session.

I use the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system TherapyAppointment to host my practice's information. When you become a client, you will input your preferred credit/debit card information, HSA, or FSA into your Client Portal profile.

Insurance

For Texas residents only: Through my collaboration with Headway, I can now offer services if you have Aetna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, Oscar, Oxford, and UnitedHealthcare. Go to https://headway.co/ and type my name in the search bar. You will need to create an account with Headway. After you create your account, you can enter your insurance information to find out what your copay will be prior to starting sessions with me.

Ocampo Psychology & Wellness is an out-of-network provider all other insurance providers. This means I don't bill insurance companies for my services but you may still be able to use your insurance if you have out-of-network benefits.

You will pay for services upfront and your insurance company may reimburse you according to your plan for what you paid. Upon request, I would be happy to provide you with an invoice (known as a "superbill") for you to submit directly to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement.

The benefit of working with an out-of-network psychologist is that your records are entirely confidential and will not be entered into an insurance company database. Please note, submitting a superbill requires me to give you a diagnosis, which will become part of your medical record.

How do I actually use my out-of-network benefits?

You can contact your insurance provider by calling the customer service number listed on the back of your insurance card and ask about mental or behavioral health benefits.

If you have out-of-network benefits, they typically will reimburse you for 60-80% of the cost of each session. Most insurance companies have you upload your monthly superbill online and then they will mail you a check with your reimbursement. You can contact your insurance provider by calling the customer service number listed on the back of your insurance card and ask about mental or behavioral health benefits.

Consider the following questions when determining if your insurance will reimburse you:

  • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage? Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?
  • What is my out-of-network deductible?
  • How much of my deductible has been met this year?
  • Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?
  • What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?
  • How much will I be reimbursed for a 45-minute psychotherapy session (CPT code 90834) and for a diagnostic evaluation (CPT code 90791)?
  • How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?
  • How long does it take for me to receive reimbursement?

Although you can submit your out-of-network claims for free to your insurance company, some people prefer paying a small fee to a company called Reimbursify who will submit your claims for you and make it easier to navigate insurance issues. I have no financial relationship to this company but want to provide you with information and options that can simplify and ease the process of receiving your out-of-network reimbursements quickly. Visit https://reimbursify.com/ for more information.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
